Do you ever find the same form in two entirely different parts of nature? I am continually amazed by the variety of shapes and colours around us, yet I often also notice similarity, which provokes deep reflection. Natural objects derive their form out of functionality, and they also happen to be beautiful. I was once working on a sculpture of a walnut when it occurred to me how strong a resemblance it bears with the brain.
The Walnut has a complex patina of light colours.
